Leanne is a fanatic about diving in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. She has been cold water diving since being certified in April of 1993. She truly loves diving in Monterey and never gets tired of diving the Breakwater, which is the training area for Central and Northern California.

Leanne became interested in diving while in Kauai and took a resort course there. She then had to find out if she could stand the cold water in Monterey. She made it through the first year in a wet suit, and then opted for a dry suit when she decided to become a professional diver.

She considers herself a “Naturalist” diver and is always on the lookout for some new creature. Her passion for these underwater plants and animals is passed on to her students as she describes their life cycle, mating habits, and survival methods, as well as knowing their names in Latin. Her total dive time is over 43 days underwater. Her only disappointment may be that she won’t be able to log a full year underwater before her diving days are over.
